Bookstores don’t usually carry titles from print-on-demand presses, because (with a few exceptions) they can’t return unsold copies to the publisher. But some bookstores will accept copies from the author and sell them on consignment. Three area bookstores have my book on consignment right now.

The Book Rack, in Arlington Center, has had copies of my book since I first received them from the press. (They are almost the first things you see when you enter the store.) I heard a story that the mother of one of Denisa’s friends came in and said “I’d like the book that Denisa’s dad wrote.” She didn’t know the title, and she didn’t really remember my name. But Mike Buglio, the proprietor, knew what she was talking about, because he knows Denisa. (Everybody, it seems, knows Denisa.)

Porter Square Books (the branch in Porter Square), also has A Moment’s Surrender on consignment. They got back in touch with me within minutes of my contacting them.

Today, Harvard Bookstore, in Harvard Square, not only took copies of my book on consignment, but put them in the front window.
